Favre opts to remain retired
After nearly three months of what he described as intense and often emotional soul-searching, Brett Favre decided to remain retired from the NFL rather than become the Minnesota Vikings' starting quarterback.
Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder that the decision not to play for the Vikings was incredibly difficult, and in the process he indicated that he is unlikely to ever consider playing again in the NFL. (Source: ESPN)

If anyone owns shares of stock in ESPN I advise you to SELL NOW. Farve's retirement/comeback took up about 98% of the programming on ESPN over the last few years. Without that, who the hell is going to watch??? I have a gut feeling we still haven't heard the end of this. Watch some team need a QB half way through the season and you will start hearing Farve's name again. The only upside if that happens is that I will get to post my picture of Farve crying again.
